How master data sync works
What is synced
Nordflow keeps a local cache of four master data sets from Business Central:
- Suppliers — name, VAT ID, address, bank account, and default values.
- Chart of accounts — every GL account available for posting, with default VAT codes.
- Projects — pulled via the configured BC dimension number (default: dimension 2).
- Dimensions — any BC dimension mapped through the dynamic dimensions module.
Sync schedule
The sync runs automatically once per night. You can also trigger it manually at any time using the Import ERP data button in the top toolbar. A manual sync is a full pull — it replaces the entire cache, not just changed records.
What you can edit in Nordflow
Most cached data is read-only — BC is the canonical source.
| Entity | Editable in Nordflow | Edit in BC instead |
|---|---|---|
| Supplier name, VAT ID, address | No | Yes |
| Supplier defaults (account, dimensions) | Yes | — |
| Chart of accounts | No | Yes |
| Projects / dimensions | No | Yes |
Editing supplier defaults in Nordflow (default account, default dimensions, payment behaviour) does not write back to BC and does not cause drift.
