Set a dimension as mandatory

Where: Integration → Dynamic dimensions

1. Open the dimension you want to make mandatory.
2. Toggle Mandatory on.
3. Click Save.

When a document is missing a mandatory dimension, the approve button is disabled and a hint tells the approver what is missing.

Caution

Use mandatory sparingly. Set it only for dimensions that must appear on every transaction — for example, a cost center in a heavily decentralised organisation. Dimensions that apply only sometimes (such as a project code) should not be mandatory, or approvers will be blocked on invoices that genuinely have no project.
