Payment info source options explained
The two sources
When an invoice arrives, Nordflow has access to two independent sources of payment information:
- Supplier master data — the bank account number, IBAN, or payment reference stored on the supplier card in your ERP or Nordflow.
- OCR capture — the payment details extracted from the invoice document itself.
The Payment info source setting under Customer profile → Accounting controls which source Nordflow uses when it prepares a payment.
Choosing an option
Combination is the recommended default for most customers. Master data takes precedence when it exists; OCR fills the gap when it does not. This gives the security benefit of master-data-first while avoiding manual work for suppliers whose cards are not yet fully populated.
Vendor only suits customers whose master data is complete and actively maintained. It removes any possibility of an invoice influencing the payment destination, which reduces exposure to invoice fraud. The trade-off is operational: someone must keep every supplier card up to date, and a missing entry means the payment field is left blank until the card is corrected.
OCR only is for the rare case where a customer has no supplier module at all and holds no master data. It carries the greatest fraud risk because there is nothing to cross-check the invoice against. Nordflow’s validation warnings still fire if OCR data changes from one invoice to the next for the same supplier, but a first-time supplier has no baseline to compare against.
Validation always runs
Regardless of which option is active, Nordflow compares OCR-captured payment data to master data and flags any mismatch. The setting controls what gets used; the warning surfaces the discrepancy either way.
