User roles in Nordflow
What roles control
A user’s role sets their base access to the platform — which sections they can open and which actions they can take. Permissions refine what they can edit on individual documents, but the role comes first.
The four roles
Normal user is the standard role for approvers and end users. They can work in Approval and Archive, and can approve, forward, reject, and pause documents that are routed to them. Access to Nordpay is off by default and must be explicitly granted.
Bookkeeper has the same access as a normal user plus visibility into documents before they enter the approval flow. This is typically the person doing initial coding and quality checks.
Admin has full access to all client settings: customer profile, accounting configuration, integration, approval flow, users, and Nordpay. Use this role for the people responsible for maintaining the client setup.
Consultant is for ECIT consultants who work across multiple clients. Consultants have broad document access and are usually managed at the broker level rather than created per client.
Choosing the right role
For most people at a client, Normal user is correct. Finance staff who touch documents before approval get Bookkeeper. The person responsible for setup and administration gets Admin. Consultants are managed separately.
